Jenny Habecker is an associate attorney at Wanzer Edwards P.C., providing family law services in multiple areas, including paternity, divorce, custody, and guardianships. Additionally, Ms. Habecker is a registered mediator, Collaborative law practitioner, and trained parenting coordinator. She also advocates for children as a Guardian ad Litem.

Ms. Habecker earned her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University with majors in Philosophy and English. Her Juris Doctorate is from St. Mary’s University (Texas) where she was a member of the Board of Advocates, a published member of the law journal, and served as a legal research and writing teaching assistant.

Ms. Habecker focuses her career on family law, and has additional experience in estates, small business matters and as a major felony district attorney. She has served as a judicial officer hearing family law cases in Marion County, Indiana and has extensive experience as a mediator.  Her perspective as an advocate and a judicial officer makes her an ideal mediator or parenting coordinator for families in conflict.  Ms. Habecker helps clients to seek outcomes that will allow them to navigate future life events successfully. She strives to guide those in relationship transitions with clear communication and developed options.

Ms. Habecker is licensed to practice in all Indiana courts and maintains membership in the Indiana State Bar Association and Indianapolis Bar Association. She is honored to be a 2020 Lawyer of Distinction in Family and Divorce Law. A strong advocate for civic education, she enjoys working with high school students through the Indiana Bar Foundation’s “We the People” program. Further, she serves as a Modest Means Mediator for the Marion County courts.

Ms. Habecker supports the Indianapolis arts, especially Dance Kaleidoscope and Footlite Musicals. When she is not attending a performance, she has her binoculars out and ready to add to her birders’ life list, kayaking with her husband, or enjoying one of Indy’s fine coffee venues.
